Big Bear Lake West
This part of Big Bear Lake has a small, sleepy-town feel and is filled with homes that are teeming with character. There is a mix of older, well-maintained homes, modern homes and lakefront estates in well maintained neighborhoods that show pride of ownership. The majority of homes are second homes/ vacation rentals. Lot sizes are generally 5,000 sq.ft. and above, with many, if not the majority, at 7,500 sq.ft and above, providing for a nice feeling a space. The lake front homes enjoy gorgeous views of the dam and some of the deepest water available on the shores of Big Bear Lake.

Points of Interest
- Historic site of the “Big Bear Dam Keepers House”. A once functional, but now dilapidated, stone structure that offers beautiful photo opportunities for the photographer in you. Click here for a link to a gorgeous photo of the site.
- Boulder Bay Park - a lakefront park that offers beautiful views of its namesake, a bay with an island of large boulders. The amenities available in the park include a large floating fishing platform, a launch area for non-motorized water vessels, picnic benches, a large gazebo area, restrooms, meandering pathways and lots of green grass. Please keep in mind that there is no playground area for children but there is plenty of open space.
Hiking/ National Forest Recreation
- Castle Rock - Gorgeous views of the entire lake and valley await you at the end of this popular hike. This is one of the few areas in Big Bear Valley that is used for rock climbing.
- Champion Lodgepole Trail - Visit one of the largest lodgepole pines in the world while walking through gorgeous meadows.
- Bluff Lake - a beautiful alpine lake that is privately owned by a nature conservancy but open to the public.
- Siberia Creek Trail - some of the most beautiful plant life that Big Bear has to offer can be found here.

Many attractions for visitors are located in Big Bear Lake Central, making this area a hub of activity. Most neighborhoods are well maintained with a diversity of construction styles ranging from older cabins to modern homes. Several neighborhoods offer stunning lake views and there are many access points to some of Big Bear Valley's best hiking trails! Neighborhoods that are close to the national forest tend to have a quiet, forested feel, while maintaining a close proximity to the center of town. - Veterans Park - a small lakefront park with a focus on honoring service men and women. There is no playground area available but a nice grassy area and restroom facilities are available.
- Snow Forest - once a small ski resort, it is now national forest land popular for snow play. Parking is limited and you must bring your own equipment. Located on Cherry Lane in Big Bear Lake.

Consistency is the word that comes to mind in the neighborhoods located here, with some newer developments that provide underground utilities and homes that are larger in square footage.
